And for our guests at Tambopata Ecolodge, the slower pace of life in our Peruvian jungle home makes our eco-lodge the ideal place to relax and switch off for a few days, and forget the outside world. With us, travelers who want to explore the Amazon rainforest, spot wildlife and truly appreciate nature in the company of expert local guides, can also enjoy the comfortable accommodation and good food that we offer.
The remote location of our ecofriendly Tambopata Ecolodge, 68 kilometers by land and river from the nearest town, deep in the forest and surrounded by eight distinct tropical forest ecosystems, means that the most remarkable natural attractions of the South American rainforest can be reached easily in half-day or full-day guided ecotourism excursions, while evenings can be spent relaxing and enjoying the excellent facilities of our eco-lodge.
With the help of our expert guides, during daytime nature excursions our guests can spot many of the more than 600 bird species known to inhabit our forests, look out for some of the eight species of monkeys that roam through the rainforest canopy, watch for giant river otters at hidden lakes, and with a little luck even spot a solitary jaguar on the banks of the Tambopata River, as we travel through the forest by boat.
And in the evenings, we invite our guests to venture back into the forest to experience the nighttime atmosphere of the Amazon, and to listen to the countless species of animals and insects that emerge when the sun goes down. We even encourage our guests to come back out on the river after dark, to search with us for the caimans that mostly hunt at night.
