How to visit the Amazon in Peru if you only have a few days

But Cusco is also the best starting place for a rainforest tour. The most accessible Amazon forest in Peru can be reached from Cusco via regular flights or by bus.
The best access point to the southern Amazon of Peru is Puerto Maldonado. This jungle town can be reached by regular flights from Cusco in less than one hour. Puerto Maldonado can also be reached by road from Cusco by private vehicle, hire car or night bus. Night buses from Cusco leave in the evening, and arrive in the early morning at the Puerto Maldonado bus station.
The town of Puerto Maldonado is the gateway to the best place to visit the Amazon. Here in Tambopata, travelers can immerse themselves in the untouched, protected rainforest that surrounds the Tambopata River, where our Tambopata Ecolodge is located. We meet all our guests at Puerto Maldonado airport or the local bus station. At our office in town, we invite travelers to leave the luggage they won’t be needing during their stay at our eco-lodge, before heading into the rainforest.
After a short drive to the river port, our boat takes guests into the heart of the Amazon rainforest. River travel is the best way to see the jungle, and the transfer to our eco-lodge in an excellent introduction to the Amazon.
