There is so much more to see when you visit Peru, beyond the famous attractions of Cusco, Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail. If you have just two weeks for your Peru vacation, you can visit Machu Picchu, see the best that Cusco has to offer, and still have time to visit the Amazon rainforest before you fly home.
With some simple planning, it is easy to see and enjoy all these different attractions when you travel to Peru. At Tambopata Ecolodge, we are located in an area of protected Amazon rainforest on the edge of Tambopata National Reserve. Our jungle home is famous for being one of the most biologically diverse places on Earth.
It is our location that makes it possible for those who travel to Peru to see our country’s most iconic attractions, and also experience a once-in-a-lifetime jungle trip, based at our comfortable eco-lodge. At Tambopata Ecolodge, as part of our service we are happy to assist our guests in planning their Peru trip to include everything they dream of seeing during their stay.
For most travelers who want to see as much as possible, the best way to visit Peru is to fly to Lima. From Lima, there are regular flights to Cusco, Peru’s most popular travel destination. Cusco is the starting point to see most of Peru’s major tourist attractions. In addition to the beautiful city of Cusco itself, these attractions include Machu Picchu, the Inca Trail, Rainbow Mountain, and the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Once visitors have seen these extraordinary attractions, the next step on a complete Peru vacation is to take a bus or flight from Cusco to the jungle town of Puerto Maldonado. At the airport or bus station in Puerto Maldonado, we meet all our guests from their bus or flight, for the relaxing boat ride deep into the rainforest, where our jungle lodge is situated.
At our rainforest eco-lodge, everything is included. Our services include transfers, transport, accommodation and meals, and of course we also include the most important aspect of any rainforest trip: the services of expert local naturalist guides who know where to find animals, and can explain to our guests how the complex web of life in the Amazon rainforest functions.
