By choosing to visit our eco-lodge, you are making a meaningful contribution to our ecotourism-based conservation efforts and the work we do to protect our pristine area of Amazon rainforest, and the wildlife populations that live here with us.
We are a Peruvian ecotourism company. Since 1991, we have led the way in showing to our fellow Peruvians how standing rainforest can generate value and provide a living income, without the need to exploit the Amazon through harmful logging, mining and livestock activities.
That is why, more than thirty years later, our own government-approved Private Conservation Area and the neighboring Tambopata National Reserve continue to form a vast island of protected, unspoiled rainforest, buffered from the damaging effects of human activity seen elsewhere in the Amazon jungles of Peru, and in South America as a whole.
We know that when travelers visit the Amazon rainforest they are hoping to experience a vast expanse of ancient trees, and to see and photograph the monkeys, macaws, caimans and jaguars for which our forest provides a home. We facilitate that experience by providing creature comforts, in the form of pleasant rooms and good food, combined with the unique expertise of knowledgeable local guides.
During their stay at our jungle lodge, our guests spend almost all their time out in the forests, and on rivers and lakes, with our naturalist guides. This is the heart of the experience at Tambopata Ecolodge. We don’t offer adrenalin-fueled experiences, such as zip lines, in the rainforests we work to protect. Instead, through rainforest trail walks and boat excursions, our goal is to give our visitors every chance of seeing and photographing Amazon wildlife, while at the same time leaving the animals as undisturbed as possible by our presence.
But having said that, of course there are few things more exciting and adrenaline producing than quietly watching a magnificent jaguar, caiman or anaconda in their natural habitat! Join us in our Peruvian jungle home, and truly experience the magic of the Amazon rainforest.
