In the Amazon rainforests that we help to protect from our Tambopata Ecolodge base, thousands of species of animals, plants and insects live and flourish, thanks to the conservation work we have contributed to for more than thirty years.
When you plan your Peru vacation, be sure to set aside a few days for a stay with us at our jungle lodge. Why just a few days? Well, while we are situated in one of the most remote, best protected and unspoiled areas of Amazon rainforest in Peru, it is actually really easy to get to us.
We are located in southeastern Peru, in an area of Amazon rainforest bordered by Brazil and Bolivia. Our location means that we can be reached easily by air from Lima, Peru’s capital, and also from the most popular travel destination in Peru, Cusco.
Of course, nobody who plans to travel to Peru wants to miss Cusco. It was the capital of the Inca empire, and today the Incas’ legacy, combined with that of the Spanish who conquered them, has left us one of the most beautiful historic cities in the Americas. And it is from Cusco that travelers set off to see that great wonder of Inca culture: Machu Picchu.
From Cusco, Machu Picchu can be reached by train, or via the famous Inca Trail, known as one of the best treks in the world. And in and around Cusco many other great tourist attractions await. These include the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Rainbow Mountain, and many other trekking routes that are less well-known than Machu Picchu, but in many ways equally rewarding.
In fact, Peru has so much more to offer visitors beyond Machu Picchu. And that is why we encourage visitors to include a 2- or 3-night eco-lodge stay with us at Tambopata Ecolodge. When you travel to Peru, take those few extra days to visit us in our rainforest home, and we’ll guide you on trails, rivers and lakes as you relax and immerse yourself in nature.
