New plans and protocols for the “new normal”
We are preparing to welcome travelers once more to Peru’s Amazon basin
To our guests and travel partners,
In response to the current global health crisis, we have reviewed and improved our operating procedures. At Tambopata Ecolodge, we have adopted new biosecurity protocols, guided by World Health Organization (WHO) and World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) recommendations. We are therefore proud to be able to feature the #SafeTravels tour operator stamp on our website.
As a locally-owned eco-lodge, nothing is more important to us than the health and wellbeing of our extended family of employees, clients, guests and the wider travel industry community. While the Covid-19 virus has caused unprecedented harm around the world, including in the coastal cities of our own country, Peru, here in the heart of the Amazon basin we have been working diligently to keep everyone associated with our company safe. We have kept our office in Puerto Maldonado and our lodge on the Tambopata River closed for more than one hundred days, while arranging for our staff to work from their homes and staying connected online with each other and our partner companies in Peru and overseas. Our loyal clients have been supportive, and have already told us they will be waiting to work with us once more as soon as our nation’s borders are reopened.
Soon, around the world citizens will emerge from their homes, families and friends will be reunited, and the way of life of communities will be restored. At Tambopata Ecolodge, we will be here to welcome travelers from across the globe to Peru’s Amazon basin, just as we have been doing for almost three decades.
Our staff is being trained extensively in new health protocols. In this evolving situation, we will continue to monitor updates from our government and international organizations, adjusting our protocols and plans where necessary. Despite all the changes the world has seen in recent months, the one thing that will never change is our commitment to you. As we reopen to the world, we will follow all local, national and international guidelines and regulations to ensure that our guests can enjoy peace of mind as they enjoy the wonders the Peruvian Amazon basin has to offer.
Feel free to contact us directly to learn more about how we will be working to introduce travelers to the wonders of Peru’s Amazon basin following the reopening of our borders.
