Terms & Conditions

As a rainforest destination with three decades’ experience, at Tambopata Ecolodge we prioritize the quality of the service we offer travelers who come from all over the world to discover the wonders of the Peruvian jungle. Our goal is to provide the best possible service at all times. At the same time, we operate our full board programs with the highest possible levels of safety and security, and we strive to resolve any eventuality that may arise, in the interests of our clients’ wellbeing. In order to ensure transparency, we publish our terms and conditions so that they can be accessed by all interested parties.

To guarantee reconfirmation, bookings must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled date for arrival at the Ecolodge.

Depending on current climatic, political or social conditions, the scheduling of published excursions may vary. Any special preferences will be subject to availability. Most rooms have two beds. No pets are allowed.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

The cancellation of a booking must be received in writing. A refund will be applicable to cancellations received in the following manner:

  • Cancellations up to 60 days before the scheduled arrival date: 100% refund of the canceled rooms.
  • Cancellations up to 35 days before the scheduled arrival date: 80% refund of the canceled rooms.
  • Cancellations less than 35 days before the arrival date: No refund will be applicable.
  • Greater flexibility for “the new normal”: With a minimum notification period of 72 hours before their scheduled arrival date, guests will be able to change their arrival date at no additional cost, for any date during 2022 or the following year, subject to availability for the chosen date.

The refund process may take up to sixty days.

UNUSED SERVICES:

There will be no refund for services canceled or not used during an itinerary or program, for whatever reason. In the event that a customer abandons a program or itinerary for any reason, any and all additional costs incurred will be the customer's responsibility.

Charges in the case of failure to arrive (No-show): Tambopata Ecolodge cannot be held responsible for any client's failure to arrive due to canceled or delayed flights, and will retain the total amount paid.

The company cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss of luggage, accident or unforeseeable circumstance. In the event of such a circumstance, upon request the company will provide the client with a certificate for insurance purposes.

TRAVEL INSURANCE:

Tambopata Ecolodge is not responsible for any loss or inconvenience beyond our control. We recommend that our guests purchase travel insurance covering loss of deposit or final amount paid, as a result of a cancellation due to illness or other causes, loss of luggage, medical expenses, etc. All travelers should be adequately insured against personal accidents and medical costs. We recommend a short-term insurance policy that covers the selected trip, with coverage in case of illness, accident, emergency evacuation, costs incurred due to flight delays, schedule changes, delays caused by bad weather, missed connections, strikes, natural disasters, or other unforeseeable events. All guests involved in adventure activities in the jungle region of Peru should be properly insured.

Forested terrain: The jungle areas where Tambopata Ecolodge operates its programs constitute a geographical configuration that in its natural state may present hidden difficulties or hazards. Some of these difficulties or obstacles may include, but are not limited to, loose rocks, trees with branches or fruit that may fall, accumulated vegetation, rushing rivers that transport rocks, boulders or logs, fallen vegetation, holes or depressions below the ground surface, variable water quality, challenging weather conditions, the presence of wildlife, etc. Due to the presence of natural forest conditions, rugged terrain, or bad weather, participants may lose contact with or be separated from their guides or the rest of the group. Communication in forested terrain is often difficult and, in the event of an accident, medical and rapid rescue assistance may not be available.

In the event of emergency: In the event of an accident or illness during a program, Tambopata Ecolodge, through its guides and/or support staff, will provide all possible assistance in the circumstances. In the event that the evacuation of an affected person or persons, assistance from medical and/or nursing personnel, and/or other medical assistance beyond basic first aid treatment is required, Tambopata Ecolodge will not be logistically or financially responsible for said services.

CANCELLATION OR POSTPONEMENT DUE TO FORCE MAJEURE:

IN RESPONSE TO THE GLOBAL SITUATION resulting from the coronavirus COVID-19, where guests are obliged to cancel or postpone their confirmed reservation date due to travel restrictions introduced by the national governments of guests’ countries of origin or residence, or by Peru’s own national government, or in the event that all international airlines which currently serve routes to Peru cancel frequencies to Peru or our destination within Peru, making it impossible for guests to complete their itinerary, Tambopata Ecolodge envisages a FLEXIBLE CANCELLATION AND / OR POSTPONEMENT POLICY, and agrees to provide said guests with a refund against all monies paid, minus any and all nonrefundable costs and commissions paid to third party online travel agencies (such as, for example, booking.com), and minus any and all nonrefundable bank or credit card charges incurred at time of purchase or resulting from the refund process, or to reschedule guests' arrival dates, in close coordination with guests and subject to availability, subject to a minimum notification period of 72 hours before their scheduled arrival date. The motive for cancellation or postponement under the aforementioned conditions must be accompanied by relevant documentation supporting the request by the guest or guests, or where applicable, a medical certificate. Tambopata Ecolodge recommends that all guests have insurance that covers, in addition to emergency medical expenses, Covid-19 related assistance (medical tests, treatment, flight changes, extended in-country stay during quarantining).

What your rainforest visit means

In Peru ecotourism has helped make it possible to create national reserves and save the forests of the Amazon basin from destruction. By implementing our ecotourism-based conservation model (see our video), we are ensuring the forests will be around for future generations to appreciate. Pioneering projects like Tambopata Ecolodge, which was established in 1991, serve as a conservation model, by showing how responsible ecotourism can support conservation initiatives.
